Nautique Maintenance: How to Keep Your Boat in Like New Condition

You finally took the plunge and purchased that gorgeous Nautique you’ve had your eye on for years. In order to keep it looking brand new season after season, Nautique maintenance is key. Here are a few tips on how to keep your boat in like new condition for years to come:

Check the Oil Regularly

One of the best ways to keep your boat running flawlessly is to stay on top of the oil and oil filter maintenance. Before you go out, simply check your oil to make sure it’s where it needs to be. This takes no time at all and can save you some serious headaches. It’s also wise to carry a quart of oil and a funnel on board just in case you need it. Make it a point to change the oil after 50 hours on the boat or every 4 months, whatever comes sooner.

Keep an Eye on the Transmission Fluid

The transmission on a wakeboard or ski boat gets a workout each time you’re on the lake, with constant stopping, starting, and maneuvering. Of course, a Nautique is made to handle this, but it doesn’t mean you can neglect maintenance. Plan to check the fluid every 2 weeks and change it out at least once per season.

Clean After Each Use

The last thing you want to do after a day on the lake is clean the boat, but even just a quick wipe down and rinse can do wonders for keeping your boat in like new condition. Plus – you might even notice possible maintenance issues before they become problems. For more advice on Nautique maintenance, visit the Service Department at Buxton Marine in Lewisville, Texas!
